Why We Exist?
Southridge Learning Center provides services to children and adults who are in need of improving basic academics skills, self-concept, and attention skills. Our approach is a positive one in diagnosing and providing remediation to children and adults with learning and attention differences.
What Services are Provided?
Remediation:
Our remediation program provides students the opportunity to experience success at their current level of performance. We will begin by assessing the student's strengths and weaknesses. An individual program is designed by our center, with the parents' input to help the student master basic skills that he or she is missing. We use the most up-to-date materials that have been proven to be successful with children and adults with learning differences. Students are taught basic skills in a multi-sensory systematic manner. All of our instructors have degrees in education. Instruction is provided one-on-one for a 30 minute session. For older students and students from out-of-town, one hour sessions are available.
Two different sessions are offered during the summer. Progress is monitored daily and standardized tests are administered periodically to monitor progress. We place emphasis on building self-esteem and confidence while working with our students. Self-confidence usually improves significantly as the students experience success.
