Since 1969, the gym at Wayne Country Day School has stood as more than just a building—it’s been our gathering place, our stage, our arena, and our heart. It has echoed with the cheers of championship games, the applause of standing ovations, the laughter of children at play, and the memories of countless Charger moments. Now, we stand at the threshold of a bold new chapter.
We are thrilled to announce the launch of our capital campaign: “Charging Ahead: Honoring the Past, Building the Future.”
This is more than a renovation. This is a reinvestment in the soul of our school.
Our gym has served us well, but as our school grows, so must our spaces and the vision for those spaces. This expansion isn’t just about bricks and mortar. It’s about ensuring that every student who walks through our doors has a space that reflects the excellence to which we commit ourselves, the community we cherish, and the future we imagine.
With your help, we are transforming our gym into a space worthy of our students’ energy and ambition. This exciting expansion includes:
Seating for 100 more fans to cheer on our teams
Modern, spacious locker rooms for our athletes
A state-of-the-art scoreboard and sound system
A weight room to support physical fitness and training
Restrooms for outdoor spectators
Staff offices and much-needed storage
The ability to host larger tournaments and events that will elevate our visibility in the region
Gymnasiums are the heartbeat of school life—a place where students learn resilience, celebrate achievement, and grow stronger together. From pep rallies to performances, from tournaments to spirit days, our gym brings us together like no other place on campus.
As a school, we have been fortunate to be blessed with generous, visionary leaders who have always stepped forward to support our school. We are inviting you to be a part of something extraordinary, to join that tradition of philanthropic leadership.
Every generation of Chargers has left its mark. Now it’s our turn to honor that legacy—and boldly charge into the future. We cannot do this without you. Your support will help shape the student experience for years to come.
Above is a picture outlining how you can be part of this exciting transformation. Whether through a leadership gift, a naming opportunity, or a personal contribution, every gift brings us one step closer to realizing our vision.
Join us. Stand with us. Let’s build the future together.
