Dictionaries for 3rd Grade!

The Rotary Club comes to WCDS each year to deliver dictionaries to 3rd graders. This is a wonderful county-wide Rotary Club service project. The fact that the dictionaries were delivered this year by Mr. Saylors (a 3rd grade parent) and Mr. Jarrett (a former 3rd grade grandparent) made this a very special visit. The kids were thrilled!!

It's fire prevention month and WCDS invited the Goldsboro Fire Department to come talk to the 3K-2 graders about fire safety. We learned about 911, stop-drop-roll, the importance of knowing your address, smoke detectors, fire drills and much more. We watched one of the firefighters dress out in his gear. He constantly reassured the younger children that it was still him under the helmet and oxygen mask.
