Canterbury Tales Writing Competition Winners!

During the month of November, the students of Mrs. Butts' 2nd period AP Literature and Composition course teamed up with a partner and each pair wrote and presented their own Canterbury Tale. In the spirit of the literary competition modeled in Geoffrey Chaucer's Canterbury Tales, these students' tales exemplified valuable lessons for the betterment of ourselves, and by extension, all of humanity. The Wayne Country Day School English department is thrilled to publicly announce the winners of the 2nd Annual WCDS Canterbury Tales Writing Competition: Kevin Lyons and Jacob Bauer! 5th Grade Serves Local Community

The fifth grade class will be visiting the local Community Soup Kitchen on Tuesday, November 20, 2018. This is a wonderful opportunity for our class to reach out and make a difference in our area. The students will help prepare and serve a meal to those less fortunate. In addition to helping feed others, I would like to ask that our class, as well as the lower school and early years, help provide paper products to serve the patrons. Paper plates, napkins, silverware, and cups are always in great need. If any one is interested in making a donation, please drop them off at the fifth grade classroom up until Monday, November 19, 2018. Thank you, your support is always appreciated.
