Already we’re more than a third of the way through the month and I’m just now getting to the end of last month! ‘Tis the season.
The “bug” is back and stalking the halls of the Early Years and Lower School, especially. PLEASE do not send your student to school with an illness, or if your child has not fully recovered from an illness. We ask that you keep your child home for twenty-four hours AFTER all symptoms have disappeared.
During this hectic time of the year, PLEASE drive DEAD SLOW on campus. The children are excited about the holidays and they may not always be paying attention to their surroundings.
The Lower School report cards will be placed in Friday Folders this week. We decided to make this change so that parents can return the signed report cards by the beginning of our winter break.
The Upper School exam schedule is:
Friday, 15 December 8.00-10.00AM ENGLISH (followed by classes until 3.00PM)
Monday, 18 December 8.00-10.00AM SCIENCE 11.00AM-1.00PM HISTORY
Tuesday, 19 December 8.00-10.00AM SPANISH
Wednesday, 20 December 8.00-10.00AM MATHEMATICS
N.B., Because of the importance of these final exams, students MUST report to take the exams even having an illness. Students with an illness will be placed in a special venue, and unlike the other students, they will be allowed to leave as soon as they finish their exam. No make-up exams are provided.
Please make arrangements to pick up your student Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday immediately after their exam ending time. There is no provision for adult supervision.
The Upper School report cards will be mailed on Thursday, 21 December. Please note that PowerSchool™ will go offline on Monday, 18 December at 8.00AM; it will return after classes resume in January.
Our Early Years and Lower School Christmas Program will take place at 10.00AM on Thursday, 21 December in the Performing Arts Classroom. After the program, children will be dismissed for the winter break.
The 2018-19 Academic Year Calendar has now been posted on our website. PLEASE respect our academic dates and refrain from planning family trips or medical or routine appointments during school days. In return, we will respect the vacation dates and treat them as family time by not assigning classwork or homework.
As we enter our long, and well-deserved nap, I wish all of you wonder and joy in this season of miracles and a happy and prosperous new year.
