I spoke too soon. Last night’s torrential downpour, followed by the tornado touchdown nearby this morning, has left nearly half of the classrooms at school in a flooded state. With water seeping through the ceiling and into the lighting, Wayne Electric has advised us to open all such lights and let them dry out. We are wet/dry vacuuming and mopping the flooring, but there is no way we will be ready to start school tomorrow.
Indeed, the forecast calls for more rain today, tonight and tomorrow. Florence, PLEASE go away.
I apologize for the inconvenience that this situation continues to cause, but we will not have school tomorrow nor is it realistic to suppose we can come back into session on Wednesday. I will stay in touch with you tomorrow to keep you updated.
