Congrats Alum Jennifer Potts Class of 2018

"I completed the University Scholars Program and the National Academy of Engineers Grand Challenges Scholars Program. I also earned the Biomedical Engineering Scholarly Achievement Award and the BME Excellence in Undergraduate Research Award as a three-time Abrams Scholar working in the Orthopaedic Mechanobiology Lab. Through my research, I was able to present at the 2021 State of North Carolina Undergraduate Research & Creativity Symposium (SNCURCS), the 2022 National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR), and the 2021 Biomedical Engineering Society Annual Conference in Orlando. My senior design team and I presented our novel medical device (the OPPDET - On-Patient Procalcitonin Detection Device) at the Senior Design Symposium as well."

"This year, I continued to serve in my roles as a co-lead BME Ambassador and a TA for Organic Chemistry 1 and 2. I was also able to volunteer with Carolina Clinical Services as a swabber at various COVID testing locations at homeless shelters in Durham. I’ve taken the MCAT and will be applying to medical schools this summer and working as a CNA during my gap year. I wouldn’t trade my senior year for anything. This has been a truly amazing experience, and I can’t wait to see what happens next. Thank you to everyone who has encouraged and supported me over the last 4 years!
As always, Go Pack! "

All we have to say, Jennifer, is “Wow! JUST WOW!”
