Academics

Our academic program is at the heart of what we do. At Wayne Country Day School, we believe in creating a robust learning environment that challenges students to consider how they best learn and succeed.  Wayne Country Day is more than a school; it's a community where students can see that they belong, create something unique, and achieve their own measure of greatness. We promise that each student will be known and understood, nurtured and cared for, encouraged and challenged, and physically and emotionally well. We take our responsibility of partnering with our families seriously as we co-create learning experiences that encourage our students towards excellence. In doing this, we strive for both rigorous instruction and an understanding of individual talents and needs. Our tremendous faculty are skilled in creating meaningful personal relationships, crafting and enriching their pedagogy, and continuing to develop and refine a rich mastery of their content areas. In short, students will be both challenged and supported in a thoughtful, caring, and purposeful way.

Our students are leaders and mindful citizens. With the help of our faculty and staff they imagine, execute, and enjoy a broad array of student activities and organizations. We strive to generate opportunities for students to explore their passions and assist them as they navigate, lead, and manage their pursuits. Our students set our student life agenda. We give them both the opportunity to create and the responsibility to lead. This area of education “outside the classroom” is one where we truly excel.

Here at WCDS students can find their place. They can create and imagine both student activities and classroom electives. They will get the support they need to not only complete their education but achieve greatness in their own way. We see our students as individuals, and we push them to be their absolute best. We are also ever present with  kind words, considerations, or personal attention that we all need when we face struggle. This is a culture of both excellence and mutual care. We encourage you to explore each division’s program to learn how your child can belong, create, and achieve at Wayne Country Day.
